Why Summer at The Music Shed?

Unlike private lessons, camp puts students directly into the band experience—rehearsing together, learning from each other, and gaining the confidence that only comes from live performance. Rock camps are not just about running songs—they’re about building the skills and friendships that make playing in a band unforgettable. Students are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and be themselves without apologies.

Every summer week ends with a high-energy in-studio performance, where each band takes the stage to perform the week’s songs for family and friends in a supportive, inspiring environment.

Serving Fairfield County, CT, including Redding, Wilton, Weston, Ridgefield, and Westport.

When I founded The Music Shed in 2009, I saw so many kids taking private lessons for a year or two before quitting. Why? Because they never got the chance to actually play in a real band. I built The Music Shed to change that—giving students the same teamwork and excitement you’d find in sports or theater, but through music.

Over the years, I’ve seen students grow from beginners to seasoned performers. Some stay for just a semester, others for seven years or more. Many have reached professional levels of musicianship, but all have built confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of music.
